Commissioning Engineer

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Engineer to join one of the UK's leading construction and engineering solutions company on a long term contract basis. This is a Contract role, on site with immediate start.

The role involves hands-on commissioning activities across electrical distribution systems, Profibus systems, PLC systems, UPS and battery systems, hydraulic systems, and more. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will play a key role in ensuring the successful commissioning of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning of electrical distribution systems, Profibus systems, PLC systems, UPS and battery systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of Rotork actuators (preferable).
  • Address small issues on-site and provide red-line markups of drawings for project updates.
  • Complete and compile all necessary QAQC documentation to the highest standards.
  • Assist in conducting and overseeing Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) across the site.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and site regulations, including working within confined spaces (medium risk) if required.
  • Collaborate closely with the Commissioning Manager to ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical and/or mechanical commissioning, particularly in electrical distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with Profibus, PLC, UPS, battery, and hydraulic systems. Experience with Rotork actuators is preferable.
  • Confined Space trained (medium risk) is advantageous.
  • Ability to identify and rectify small issues on-site efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail in compiling QAQC documentation and marking up red-line drawings.
  • Ability to work under the direction of the Commissioning Manager while supporting the wider team.
