Job Description

As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will be an integral part of our client's engineering team, contributing to both design and manufacturing processes. This role is perfect for a recent graduate who is passionate about mechanical engineering and eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world environment. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from conceptual design through to manufacturing and production, gaining valuable experience across different stages of the engineering process.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Engineering:

  • Assist in the development of innovative mechanical designs for new products and components.
  • Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with senior design engineers to develop prototypes and test solutions.
  • Perform design analysis, including stress and strain calculations, to ensure product integrity.
  • Support the R&D team in the development of new technologies and materials.

Manufacturing Engineering:

  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are optimised for production.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, including tooling design and process flow.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles across production lines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow within the company.

Desirable:

  • Previous internship or placement experience in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering role.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
