DV Cleared Commissioning Engineer 

Due to rapid and continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a DV Cleared Commissioning Engineer to join a leading Engineering organisation specialising in the delivery of consultancy services, engineering solutions and site operations support, to some of the UK’s leading Defence contractors. This role is a contract role, Hybrid, can be outside of IR35 ( pending determination) and requires  DV Clearance.

Role Overview:

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in project delivery, contributing to commissioning strategies and supporting documentation for successful project execution. This position will require close collaboration with sub-contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure all technical and engineering aspects of the project meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and input into commissioning strategies and high-level control documentation.
  • Attend FATs, ensuring supplier adherence to test plans and proper installation of equipment.
  • Witness and ensure Setting to Work activities are performed according to documented procedures and sign off on completion.
  • Manage project engineers and technicians to support STW, SAT, and inactive commissioning activities.

Prepare essential documentation to support project delivery, including:

  • Control Plans
  • Setting to Work (StW) documents
  • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) documents
  • Inactive commissioning documents
  • Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • LTQR documentation

Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to generate and review:

  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) documents
  • Control Plans
  • Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) documents
  • Inactive commissioning documents
  • LTQR documentation

Qualifications:

  • All applicants must have DV Security Level Clearance. Please only apply if you have DV clearance - Essential
  • EC&I Biased- Essential
  • Commissioning experience on a nuclear licensed site - Essential
  • Experience in supplier witness testing - Essential
  • Experience in developing test documentation – Essential
  • Engineering Degree or Higher National Certificate in Engineering - Desirable
  • Membership of a relevant technical/professional body - Desirable
  • Control panel design experience - Desirable
  • General knowledge of mechanical and process engineering disciplines - Desirable
  • Fault finding experience - Desirable
  • Onsite supplier management experience – Desirable
