Senior EC&I Engineer 
Due to continued growth, opportunities have arisen for Senior EC&I Engineer to support a large UK Nuclear Sector Client on a long term contract (Outside IR35) . This contract role requires SC Clearance. The position offers a hybrid work model, with a minimum of 2 days in the office every 2 weeks and can be Outside IR35 (pending determination).

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing CE&I design concepts, ensuring compliance with relevant British and European standards, and supporting project teams through the complete lifecycle from concept through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop CE&I design concepts, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs), cable schedules, and layout drawings.
  • Apply expertise in Functional Safety standards (BSEN 61508 & 61511).
  • Produce and maintain Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR) and technical files in line with Client’s Quality Management Systems.
  • Ensure project designs meet budgets, timelines, and all relevant technical standards.
  • Produce functional safety and controls documentation (FDS, SIDD, Functional Safety Plans).
  • Provide technical details (drawings, specifications, work instructions) that enable efficient manufacturing.
  • Review and check subcontractor and in-house drawing documentation for compliance.
  • Prepare commissioning documentation (Factory Acceptance Test - FAT, Site Acceptance Test - SAT).
  • Produce engineering reports (design basis, substantiation, calculation reports).
  • Utilize AutoCAD for EC&I engineering drawing creation.
  • Support tender reviews with technical and commercial input.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree, HNC, or demonstrable equivalent experience (Essential).
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Level 2 Health & Safety certification (Essential).
  • Broad-based engineering experience in design and manufacturing (Essential).
  • Strong experience in designing electrical systems (Essential).
  • Experience with low voltage control gear and control systems (Essential).
  • Membership in an appropriate technical/professional body (Desirable).
  • Knowledge of drawing principles and standards (Desirable).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Desirable).
  • Experience in HAZOP/HAZID (Desirable).
