Job Description
I am recruiting for an Estimator for my client who are based in Ayrshire and have a rich history and a long-standing reputation in their sector.
As an Estimator, you will manage all aspects of estimating, from initial enquiry through to project handover. Your role will involve anticipating and adapting to changing business needs through effective communication, fostering relationships with clients, service providers and team members, and promoting a strong teamwork ethos.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain the Quote Tracker with new enquiries and throughout the project.
- Review tender documentation, including Scope of Works, Drawings, Schedules, Programme and Contract Terms.
- Prepare a schedule of queries and comments for discussion with the Estimating team and/or Client.
- Create and complete estimate sheets using existing templates reflecting client requirements.
- Collaborate with Project Delivery, Site and Workshop Teams for specialist input.
- Submit quotations and supplementary documentation to clients.
- Prepare detailed information for a seamless handover to the Projects Team.
- Assist the Commercial Team with contract reviews.
- Assist in developing pricing/estimating rates and models to meet various market and client needs.
Candidate Requirements:
- Effective communication is an essential requirement. Liaising with; Clients, Internal Departments, Suppliers and Sub-contractors.
- Previous experience working on mechanical, pipework or metalwork projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and pipework isometrics.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
