We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (M&E) Engineer to join a rail business specialising in High Speed Rail. This key role involves providing technical expertise, assurance, and leadership in Mechanical Design Engineering, ensuring that the design and construction of M&E assets meet project standards and resolving issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Extensive Mechanical Design Engineering background working on Large Building Design, Major Stations or Large projects. Comprehensive knowledge of UK construction regulations, including CDM (Construction, Design, and Management) requirements.
Excellent Stakeholder engagement skills. Familiarity with the Common Safety Method (CSM) for risk evaluation and assessment.
Strong understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework governing M&E systems.
Commercial awareness, including cost management, schedule targets, and delivering integrated engineering solutions.
Experience Required:
Proven experience in managing Mechanical Design Engineering and safety standards for large, complex infrastructure projects.
Experience working on major projects/programmes, with a focus on cost and schedule management in a complex infrastructure environment.
Expertise in balancing competing project and engineering demands while maintaining high-quality standards.
