Job Description
This specialist freelance role requires deep expertise in railway signalling, particularly within Command, Control, and Signalling (CCS) systems, such as Interlocking, Control Systems, or European Train Control Systems (ETCS). Sitting between the requirements team, and the Project Engineering team, as a CCS Engineer you will be evaluating the suppliers as contracts are won, reviewing the “Why’s of their solutions and not just the how’s” from all Stakeholders. You will look at the requirements of the sponsor, and explore the solutions.
You will take a systems approach, looking at the engineering solutions, the root causes of any issues, and working across all stakeholders to fix as a collaboration the systems challenges. Therefore, whilst being an expert in either Interlocking, Rail Control systems and / or ETCS is critical, the ability to work with all stakeholders, in a friendly partnership is critical.
