A fantastic opportunity is available at an "Outstanding" all-girls school in Tower Hamlets for the Deputy Head of Year role. This position has the potential to be extended until the end of the academic year, with the working hours being from 8:30 to 16:30, and it does not necessitate QTS. According to OFSTED's most recent report, it was noted that "Students demonstrate strong commitment to their studies and attain outstanding academic results. The behaviour of the students is exemplary throughout." The successful candidate is anticipated to commence immediately.

Deputy Head of Year - Key Responsibilities:

•One cover lesson per week:Deliver at least one cover lesson per week, stepping in to teach pre-prepared lessons, adapt to different subjects, and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
•Deputy Head of Year for two year groups:Support the Head of Year in overseeing the academic and pastoral care of students. Responsibilities include monitoring progress, managing behaviour, and assisting with year group events.
• Pastoral Care: Provide individual support to students, addressing personal, social, and emotional issues. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes student well-being.
• Behavioural Support: Implement and monitor behaviour management strategies, ensuring a respectful and conducive learning atmosphere. Address behavioural concerns promptly and effectively.
• Mentorship: Offer guidance and advice on academic progression, career aspirations, and personal development. Assist students in setting and achieving their goals.
• Parent and Guardian Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teaching staff, counsellors, and other support services to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
• Administrative Duties: Manage student records, monitor attendance, and ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.

Deputy Head of Year - Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant experience in pastoral care, behaviour management, or a similar role within an educational setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
• As The Deputy Head of Year you should have excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting student well-being and success.
• Knowledge of the challenges and pressures faced by secondary students, and the ability to provide appropriate support and guidance.
