Business Development Engineer (UK)
Benefits: Basic salary £45k plus competitive OTE circa additional £45k, company car, private medical, 31 days annual leave and pension.

We are looking for a Business Development Engineer to lead sales growth and market expansion and client focus across a variety of industries in the UK. This is a key role for someone with a strong commercial mindset, strategic thinking, and a proven focus on client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies, driving growth and exceeding profit targets.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, aiming to surpass annual revenue budgets.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key clients across various industries.
- Set and manage both annual and monthly sales objectives aligned with the company’s business goals.
- Collaborate with different business units to ensure coordinated and maximised sales efforts.
- Lead the preparation of proposals, presentations, negotiations, and closing of sales deals.
- Provide market insights and support product/service development teams to shape the future product roadmap.
New Business Development:
- Identify and assess new markets for existing products and services.
- Work closely with senior management to explore and develop new partnership opportunities.
- Create business cases for innovative growth opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in sales or marketing.
- Relevant technical qualifications, ideally within the heavy machinery sector (Ports, Terminals, Shipyards).
- A proven ability to build successful sales relationships at all levels within an organisation.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and commercial skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, with a positive, results-oriented attitude.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
- Willingness to travel extensively and spend significant time with clients.
