Senior Traffic Engineer - South East London
Rate: £36 - £42 per hour (Umbrella)

A South East London Local Authority Traffic Engineering Team is committed to using innovative and creative measures to address the borough’s traffic and parking challenges. The team is responsible for the design, consultation, and implementation of a wide range of projects, including new pedestrian crossings, controlled parking zones, traffic signal-controlled junctions, zebra crossings, and other traffic safety measures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage traffic and parking schemes from concept to completion.
- Conduct site investigations to assess issues and propose solutions for traffic and parking-related matters.
- Respond to queries from councillors, residents, and other stakeholders.
- Provide professional engineering advice on the Council’s Parking Authority duties.
- Ensure compliance with traffic design standards and implement best practices.
- Engage in public consultations and present technical information clearly to non-specialists.
- A background in Transportation, Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of traffic design standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with the public, councillors, and other stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple schemes concurrently.
