Job Description

An exciting social science opportunity awaits you at a high achieving all-girls school in Wandsworth, who are seeking a full-time teacher of social science from January 2025. This will be a permanent role for the ideal candidate. The social science teacher will be required to teach sociology and psychology, as well as BTEC Health & Social Care.

Social Sciences Teacher Role:

  • Good familiarity of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum for Psychology, Sociology , Citizenship & Health and Social Care.
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources.
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school.
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons.
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.

Social Sciences Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School.
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a Social Sciences Teacher in Secondary School .
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management.
  • A relevant Social Sciences related degree is desirable.
  • SEND experience is desirable.
