This key leadership role will be instrumental in driving the engineering department forward by spearheading continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the overall growth and success of the organisation. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
    • Identify and drive projects focused on improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing processes.
    • Utilise Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to optimise operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
    • Implement best practices and process innovations to ensure manufacturing excellence.
  • Drive Engineering Department Forward:
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the engineering team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, maintenance) to align engineering activities with business goals.
    • Develop and implement engineering strategies that support long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
    • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for improvement projects, track progress, and report outcomes to senior management.
    • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to address critical manufacturing challenges.
  • Innovation and Technology Integration:
    • Evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and systems to improve manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies to keep the company at the cutting edge.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment on continuous improvement efforts.
    • Serve as a liaison between senior management and the engineering team, translating strategic objectives into actionable engineering goals.
    • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, achievements, and areas for improvement.
 
What you will bring to the role:
·  A recognised Engineering Qualification..
·  Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and engineering leadership.
·  Proven track record in driving process improvements and managing large-scale engineering projects.
·  Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
·  Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing and developing engineering teams.
·  Excellent problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
·  Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
