Job Description
You're working within an accountancy practice but not entirely happy where you are.
Whether it's a lack of training, or support to get you through your studies, maybe you're working somewhere you feel there will be no long-term future.
Your next move needs to be right because you don't like moving about.
Somewhere you'll be genuinely supported in your studies, with a full study package available, and a mixed portfolio of clients and people around you who want you to do well without micro-managing.
A friendly one-partner firm which has grown its small team by another three people in recent months, continuing its growth, and is creating this new job, especially for you.
Despite the small size, you won't be held back. You can learn and row here. However, anyone wanting to just do a great job and go home will not feel pushed up any ladder.
Work is 100% accounts preparation, with no audit and you'll have a portfolio of clients. You'll manage your workflows and not be micro-managed.
The partner is a warm person who values his people. He's professional, has great ethics and is well-known in the local community because he networks to bring on new business. It matters to him that you enjoy your work and contribute positively to the existing team.
You'll get regular reviews and feedback to ensure you're settling in well and for you to air any concerns.
You'll work in lovely offices in a rural location where you can walk or run in the countryside in your breaks.
At least once a month the owner does something for the team, like a shared lunch provided by the company, a Christmas event and a summer social which means a day when the office is closed and everyone goes out to let their hair down. But there's no pressure to be 'social'.
You'll be able to work from home a couple of days a week after a six-month probationary period, bedding in, picking up work and getting to know your colleagues.
Holiday entitlement is 33 days (Including 8 bank holidays), holiday year is 31 March. Some of that holiday entitlement needs to be taken over the Christmas period when the office is closed.
Your working hours will be 8:30 am to 5:15 pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Friday. One lunch hour at 12 pm or 1 pm.
The firm is an authorised training employer and provides full study support including course costs, off-the-job training time, and exam and registration costs. So, a fully comprehensive package.
You can also be part of the contributory pension scheme: 5% employee, 3% employer.
Apply now to be part of the team. Your application will be reviewed by a human-being, with all applications receiving a response. We know that communicating during working hours is tricky and will accommodate out of hours communication should your application be successful. Interviews being held for successful applicants can also be accommodated after work.
