Resourcery Group work in close partnership with a wide variety of globally-renowned Financial Services institutions.  One such organisation is in the midst of an era-defining growth spurt which has seen the business grow from single digit turnover to north of £100m in a very short space of time.

The opportunity to shape and form the business in a way that drives further future growth.  The business is expanding in the UK and internationally and as it does, needs to scale up and strengthen their financial reporting and control functions to meet the demands of the curent and future business.  Resourcery Group have been asked, on an exclusive basis, to identify a new Head of Financial Reporting to lead on financial reporting, controls and to manage the external audit process.  The role reports directly to the CFO, and work closely with other members of the Executive Committee, Board and Board Committees.  This role is seen as a key part of the expansion.  

The role centres around financial reporting and the controls which support its activities, with a key focus on the development including Australasia and the US. Owning key business processes and being involved in the continued expansion of the business will provide significant exposure and experience to the successful individual.  The growth of the business will drive the development of the Finance function and provide the Head of Financial Reporting with wide exposure to international companies, regulatory reporting, loan book portfolio review and management, net margin and transfer pricing processes, liquidity planning and derivatives.  This is a fantastic career opportunity for an ambitious and driven technically-trained accountant who wishes to build and shape a team in their own imagine and likeness.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Statutory account productions for company and wider Group in line with IFRS.
  • Manage the external audit process.
  • Provide supoorting documentation and notes to accounts, acting on feedback and recommendations from internal and external audit.
  • Stress test the effectiveness of financial controls, identifying weaknesses and providing follow-up recommendations and support.
  • Lead the year-end process.
  • Proactively work with business heads and building strong relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support ongoing business change in UK and internationally.


Applicants must be:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified from a Big4 or Top10 practice.
  • Be capable of working independently and autonomous in a fast-paced, growth business.
  • Possess exception stakeholder management skills, able to influence to a Board level.
  • Possess robust technical skills (IFRS, UKGAAP).
  • Be able to build out and recruit a technical reporting team.
  • Financial Services sector experience is helpful but by now means essential.
