Job Description

 

Class Act Teaching Services are currently working with a Secondary School in Abingdon who are looking for a Qualified Teacher with SENCO experience to support the existing SENCO in the school. The role is initially until Christmas with the potential to be extended. The SENCO role is 3 or 4 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the potential of a 4th day.

This Secondary School is proud of its ethos of nurturing individuals and encouraging their personality. At their most recent inspection the school continued to be rated ‘Good’ under the former ‘Ofsted ratings for schools.

SENCO Role:

  • Strong knowledge of, and commitment to working with children with special educational needs
  • Work effectively with other members of staff throughout the school
  • Be able to work collaboratively to support the current SENCO
  • Have the energy to inspire and motivate students
  • Ability to monitor, assess and report on the progress of the student
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

SENCO Requirements:

  • Hold QTS
  • Have previous experience as a SENCo
  • Have previous experience working with students with SEND
  • Have a good level of behaviour management
  • Be enthusiastic and committed to seeing every child succeed
