Job Description:
Job Duties:
- Source and purchase materials required for manufacturing and engineering processes
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to obtain the best pricing and payment conditions
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of materials at all times
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and forecast demand
- Analyse market trends and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Materials Buyer or similar role
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in purchasing materials within the manufacturing or engineering industry
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of supply chain management principles
- Familiarity with procurement processes and practises
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with occasional visits to supplier sites
- Regular working hours with potential for overtime during busy periods
