We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants with SEND experience to join our growing team of education professionals. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, enabling them to thrive in a classroom environment. You will work alongside experienced teachers to deliver tailored support and ensure students’ individual needs are met. You must be patient, empathetic, and able to adapt to the varying needs of the pupils you support.

Key Responsibilities of SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist students with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and physical disabilities
  • Work alongside class teacher and other staff members
  • Support students with daily activities, including personal care where necessary
  • Promote positive behaviour and provide emotional support to students
  • Observe and report on student progress and contribute to assessments as required

The SEND Teaching Assistant We Are Looking For?

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant specifically supporting students with SEND
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs and a commitment to their development
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of SEND and the challenges these students face in the classroom
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are desirable
  • A current DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
