Job Description

Step Teachers are working with a Primary School in Plymouth who are looking for a Year 6 Class Teacher to start full time in January 2025. This is an ongoing long term supply cover role and the school are looking for a Year 6 Class Teacher who is willing to do the planning and marking for this role.

The role is at a 2 form-entry Primary School whose ethos is to support every individual to strive for excellence. The school received a rating of ‘Good’ under the former Ofsted ratings for schools.

Year 6 Class Teacher Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum at Key Stage 2
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom, and throughout the school
  • Ability to monitor, assess and report on the progress of your students
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging lesson that can be adapted to the needs of the class
  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Year 6 Class Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teaching Status
  • Recent mainstream school-based experience as a Primary School Teacher
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • Experience working with SEND is desirable
