Job Description
Step Teachers are currently looking for a full time Year 1 Class Teacher. As a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts, Step Teachers have long standing relationships with schools and academies across the county; we are currently working with a Primary School in Hertford who are looking for a Year 1 Class Teacher to start in January and continue until the end of the academic year.
The Primary School is a one-form entry school and has been continually rated 'Good under the former Ofsted rating for schools. Their curriculum strives to create a varied learning environment for all pupils and equip them with the qualities to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Year 1 Class Teacher Role:
- Possess strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Maintain a tidy and organized classroom with easily accessible resources
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members both in the classroom and throughout the school
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that can be adapted to the needs of the class
- Willingly comply with and effectively implement the school's policies
Year 1 Class Teacher Requirements:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Have recent experience as a Primary School Teacher in a mainstream school
- Demonstrate good classroom and behavior management skills
- Experience working with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) is desirable
