Step Teachers is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work ongoing basis in a school in East Suffolk. 

The Role of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, ensuring they feel valued and confident in their learning.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Helping prepare Year 6 pupils for their transition to secondary education
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional well-being in line with the school’s ethos.

What We’re Looking For in a Teaching Assistant:

  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a classroom setting.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent).
  • A willingness to commit to the role for the long term and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
