Senior Project Manager 
Location: South London/Hybrid
Rate: £80.14 per hour (Umbrella)


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager with a background in MRICS Building Surveying and extensive local authority experience, preferably within Housing, to join a Local Authority in South London. This role offers the opportunity to lead major void works, decent homes programmes, and a range of other high-value, specialist projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Plan, manage, and direct construction teams on a variety of special and ad hoc projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation to completion.
  • Innovation & Research: Keep abreast of new construction trends, materials, techniques, and best practices to implement on projects.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Monitor and ensure compliance with changes in legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, and provide solutions to housing needs.
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage high-value projects including environmental sustainability programmes and new initiatives stemming from government directives.
  • Team Management: Lead both internal and external teams, ensuring effective communication and project coordination.
  • Budget & Timeline Management: Oversee all projects ensuring they remain within budget and timescales, with quality standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) fully met.
Essential Requirements:
  • MRICS Building Surveyor qualification.
  • Proven experience within local authority housing projects, specifically on major void works and decent homes programmes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both internal and external teams effectively.
  • Experience in leading and delivering high-value, specialist construction projects, including environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent budget and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with government directives, policy development, and funding bids.
