The Role

Key Responsibilities:
- Front of House: Greet all staff, students, and external visitors and suppliers.
- Health and Safety: Conduct daily opening checks and report any issues to management.
- Facilities Management: Ensure communal areas are tidy, manage tea/coffee supplies, and handle the purchasing and distribution of milk.
- Visitor Management: Provide a daily list of visitors and control access by issuing building passes.
- Mail Handling: Sort and distribute incoming post, manage deliveries, and handle outgoing mail.
- Event Coordination: Oversee internal events and meetings, assist with external bookings, and set up classrooms and meeting rooms.
- Administrative Support: Manage the Reception Inbox, answer telephone calls, and perform photocopying tasks.
- Stock Management: Conduct regular stocktakes and order office supplies.
Building Maintenance: Perform daily closing checks and manage keys and lockers.
Skills and Experience Required
- Essential: GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English, proficiency in Microsoft Products, excellent customer service and communication skills, strong organisational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, confident liaising with internal and external contacts, flexibility, and a professional demeanour.
- Desirable: Previous experience as a receptionist in an academic or hospitality setting, knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment.

- Skills: Effective communication, business thinking, self-development, achieving results, digital capability, customer experience, managing quality and standards, applying judgement and making decisions.
- Reception hours are from 0800 to 1730 hrs, Monday to Friday, with two shift patterns. Occasional evening work may be required depending on bookings. The role typically involves a 37.5-hour work week, with the possibility of additional hours as necessary.
