Job Description

As a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts, Step Teachers are working with a Primary School in St Albans who are looking for a Reception Class Teacher to start in January 2025. This Reception Class Teacher role continues for 2 terms, until the end of the academic year. This is a full time position but the school may be open to a part time or job share alternative.

This one form entry Primary School prides themselves on their community ethos and champions mutual respect amongst every individual in the school. The school are rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED and have their aims embedded in supporting each student as an individual to achieve. 

Reception Class Teacher Role:

  • Possess strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • Maintain a tidy and organized classroom with easily accessible resources
  • Collaborate effectively with other staff members both in the classroom and throughout the school
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that can be adapted to the needs of the class
  • Willingly comply with and effectively implement the school's policies

Reception Class Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or Early Years Teaching Status
  • Have recent experience as a Primary School Teacher in a mainstream school
  • Demonstrate good classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience working with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) is desirable
