Voids Building Surveyor

Rate: £400 - £450 a day (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:
- Program Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Asset Investment team to develop and implement effective inspection systems for external and communal property parts.
- Identify requirements for reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and cyclical maintenance, ensuring timely and prioritised execution.
- Recommend and review specialist contractors for program delivery.
- Health and Safety:
- Implement and document the Council’s Health and Safety policy for residents, staff, and contractors.
- Provide expert knowledge on health and safety laws applicable to the construction industry.
- Pre and Post Inspection of Works:
- Oversee post-inspection functions, including building structure, furniture, fabric, resident dwelling repairs, communal areas, and estate grounds.
- Ensure regular inspections, customer satisfaction, and contractor performance reporting.
- Complete and follow up on post-inspection reports, ensuring work completion for handover.
- Identify key investment needs and analyse demand to reduce failings.
- Must possess MCIOB qualification.
- Proven track record in managing budgets, projects, and contractor relationships.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety laws applicable to construction.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
