A central London Local Authority is recruiting for a Interim Technical Business Analyst, and play a pivotal role in driving digital transformation across the Councils Digital Housing portfolio. Key Responsibilities
- Lead Business Analysis: Drive business analysis for new products and services, focusing on user-centered design in multidisciplinary teams.
- Ambassador for Digital Transformation: Advocate strong business analysis skills as essential for digital transformation.
- Service Line Collaboration: Assist service lines in understanding, mapping, and articulating their transformation objectives.
- User Stories and Backlogs: Translate information and evidence into user stories and backlog items, aiding services in prioritising development and improvements.
Role Requirements
- Versatile Working: Adapt to various working modes, whether as part of a Product team, Project team (using Agile/Waterfall methodologies), or service team.
- Cultural Change: Drive cultural change within the organisation as part of the Digital Housing portfolio.
- Business Analysis Community: Engage actively in the Council's business analysis community, collaborating with other disciplines.
- Multidisciplinary Team: Take responsibility for analysis throughout the product lifecycle, including research plans, data gathering, and product iteration recommendations.
- Data-Driven Services: Use data to ensure services are accessible, intuitive, and simple. Build and execute research and data gathering plans.
- User Research: Conduct research with end users, including internal users, to gather insights and inform product development.
- Backlog Management: Build and manage work backlogs, translating user needs into user stories.
- Service Journey Visualisation: Map current and future processes to quantify steps, pain points, and prioritise development.
- Service Improvement: Lead investigations into service gaps and friction, making recommendations for improvement.
- Agile Methodology: Apply agile methodologies and mindset to all aspects of work, ensuring a fast-paced and evolving approach.

This role is an enabler, with user needs at the core of improving outcomes for the borough's residents. The postholder will:
- Engage with Service Areas: Help service areas understand agile ways of working and the potential for digital transformation.
- User Story Creation: Write user stories, define success measures, and contribute to product vision and MVP scope.
- Data Utilisation: Find opportunities to gather data to understand problems more deeply and ensure smooth digital journeys.
